Brent Smith, President

Mr. Smith graduated from Miami University, Oxford OH with a B.S. in Business, major in Finance in 1987.  Mr. Smith played varsity ice hockey while attending Miami University from ‘84-‘87.

Brent Smith started his career as a manager in-training with a very well respected large franchisee of Kentucky Fried Chicken.  In three short years, Mr. Smith worked his way up from Unit Manager, to Training Manager, and then Area Manager.  His formula for success was exceptional customer service blended with hot fresh food.

In 1991, Mr. Smith started with Fast Food Merchandisers managing the sales and service territories for the $1B food distributor/manufacturer in the Midwest and the Northeast.  Mr. Smith’s training in the disciplines of manufacturing and distribution would prove to be valuable for years to come.  Mr. Smith was instrumental in the implementation of entire new product categories for the distributor, including fresh chicken, produce, and chemicals.  He also helped roll out a new and cutting edge ordering system for the entire customer base.   Mr. Smith’s division implemented key training programs such as “Creating Customer Focus” and “Teaching Customer Focus.”  Fast Food Merchandisers was part of a family of operating companies owned by Imasco, Ltd.   Mr. Smith was elected to participate in the Imasco Fast Track Training Program for Senior Management Development.  This program gave participants boardroom access to some of the North America’s largest companies in their respective industries.

In 1994, Mr. Smith led the Sales Division for a new start up, QVS, Inc.  A division of FFM, QVS is a custom blending and packaging chemical company located in the greater Chattanooga area.  QVS created cleaning and sanitation programs for the foodservice and food manufacturing industries.   As Vice President of Sales, Mr. Smith expanded and created the customer base to include Hardee’s Food Systems, The Krystal Company, Checker’s/Rally’s, Lowes/Sony Cineplex Movie Theatres, Jack’s Family Restaurants, and many large school systems and janitorial supply distributors in TN, GA, AL, and FL.

In 2003, Mr. Smith trademarked Bright Solutions and started Bright Solutions, LLC.  Bright Solutions branded janitorial products are currently found in restaurants, hospitals, schools and many other markets.

 In 2011 the trademark was sold to a large chemical blending and packaging company with national presence… UberChem and Paper was founded soon there after!  UberChem and Paper focuses on creating value added janitorial paper programs and specialty chemical products for our customers.
